Ripe black cherry, blueberry and black currant with hints of vanilla and black pepper on the nose. On the palate, elegant flavors of ripe black cherry, currant and creamy spice are complimented with hints of dark chocolate. These flavors are well integrated without being overpowered by the alcohol - balance and finesse are the key descriptors for this wine. |

| OVERVIEW & TASTING NOTES: |
We have worked with our vineyard manager Duff Bevill for many years to identify the best vineyard block on the property. With a slight hill providing better drainage and more vigorous vines, the fruit from this particular corner has always been concentrated, flavorful and bright. We picked 4.5 tons of our Merlot 2005 and crushed, fermented and aged it at Copain in Santa Rosa with the help of our close friend Tom Garrett - a rising superstar Napa Valley winemaker.
The 2005 TEIRA Dry Creek Valley Merlot exhibits strong notes of wet earth, saddle leather, dust and dark chocolate on the nose. Light on the attack, the wine expands on the mid-palate and shows its true power on the finish with dark red fruit flavors. Tightly wound with soft tannins and good structure, this wine is young and will benefit from at least 6 to 12 months in the cellar. Drink now (after decanting) through 2020.
